Supporting playful transitions from Preschool to Primary School
Play has the potential to support transition from preschool to primary school through connecting familiar and new ways of teaching and learning. This webinar will explore children’s experience of play and transition and consider how playful learning can be used to support children’s learning journey in the infant classroom. It will look at what and how children learn in preschool and primary schools and consider strategies for maximising the potential of play to support effective transitions and learning achievement.

Lisha O’Sullivan is Head of the Department of Reflective Pedagogy & Early Childhood Studies at MIC, Limerick. Lisha lectures in early childhood education at MIC and supervises students’ research at undergraduate, Masters & PhD levels. A qualified Play Therapist, Lisha’s research interests include early years curriculum and pedagogy, the role of play in development and inclusive education.
