Role of Mayo Education Support Centre

Mayo Education Support Centre (MESC) promotes partnership in education by providing access to professional development, training and support for teachers and the wider education community. In addition to the delivery of a varied local programme of support, training and professional development for teachers, school management, parents and school community members, Mayo Education Support Centre is the National Base for the Active School Plan Programme and also provides administrative and educational support for various other projects and programmes on behalf of the Department of Education.  Mayo Education Support Centre also provides Department of Education approved online and face to face summer courses for teachers. The Centre works closely with the county’s 171 primary and 32 post primary schools with a teaching population of over 2100.
